Friends of Puerto Rico

Angelique Sina and Natalia Delgado

Today on the #GIVEPodcast , we are excited to introduce two very inspirational women, Angelique Sina and Natalie Delgado of Friends of Puerto Rico. Fueled by an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for others, this nonprofit is a social impact organization headquartered in Washington, DC, that is focused on mobilizing a network of partners to create economic opportunities for the people of Puerto Rico.

Puerto Rico has faced many hardships and environmental disasters leading to an increase in the poverty gap, especially for women. Even though women make up 53% of Puerto Rico’s population, they are only making 70% of what their male counterparts make. Friends of Puerto Rico is focused on building a generation of entrepreneurs, specifically for young girls and women that provides them with the skills and resources they need in order to be able to live the lives they deserve.

Friends of Puerto Rico has committed that in one year they will develop 500 women that are 18 years plus and 500 girls to become entrepreneurs through a hands on coffee agriculture program. In order to get involved, reach out on their website below, or on social media and they will personally answer any questions and give updates on their progress!
